WHAT IS FARM BUREAU?
We are a grass-roots organization dedicated to promoting and preserving agriculture in Stanislaus County. As a member of the California Farm Bureau Federation our members are provided with a network of support both on and off the farm. From delivering breaking legislative and local news to educational tools and helpful discounts, we are the here to serve the farmer.

SCFB MISSION STATEMENT
Developed by the Board of Directors May 13, 2007
To serve as the voice of Stanislaus County agriculture at all levels of government, provide programs to assist its members and educate the public to the importance of agriculture.

Michel A. Etchebarne, Ph.D.
President, Stanislaus County Farm Bureau

Raised on a northeastern California cattle/sheep ranch in Modoc County, Dr. Etchebarne received his Bachelor of Science from California State University, Michel A. Etchebarne, Ph.D.Chico (1976), and masters (1978) and doctoral degree (1981) from Colorado State University. He has privately consulted with dairy operations since 1983 and served as a dairy advisor for California Cooperative Extension, Stanislaus County (1982). Listed under the American Registry of Professional Animal
Scientists, and currently serving as president of National American College of Animal Nutrition, Etchebarne has held membership with the American Society of Animal Science and American Dairy Science Association for over 25 years.
Married to his wife Kathy for 35 years, they have three grown children, Brett, Marc, and Kristen. They own and operate an almond orchard outside of Modesto and remain active with the family ranch in Modoc Co.


Wayne Zipser, Executive Manager

Wayne Zipser is a third generation farmer born and raised in Ceres, CA.
He graduated from Ceres High school in 1972 and was elected State Treasurer of the FFA 1972-74. He received the American Farmer Degree in 1974.
He attended Modesto Junior College majoring in Agribusiness.
He started a farm management business in 1981 and became involved with the Farm Bureau Board of Directors in 1989.
Zipser has served as president of numerous organizations and was President of Stanislaus County Farm Bureau from 1998 – 2000
He is married and lives in Turlock. He has two children, Andrea, 26 and Vince, 21.
