Legislative Issues
Our members tell their stories the best! Whether it's at 1010 Tenth Street in Modesto, the Capitol in Sacramento or the halls of Congress in Washington, DC, as a member of the Stanislaus County Farm Bureau, you are part of the grassroots legislative process. Your local membership also gives you legislative access through the California Farm Bureau Federation and the American Farm Bureau Federation.
If it's creating a local ordinance to protect our precious agricultural resources, creating a bill to toughen penalties for metal theft, fighting to save the Williamson Act or fighting to lessen the burden of estate taxes, Farm bureau is involved. If it's supporting candidates that support and protect agriculture, Farm Bureau is involved. We keep constant contact with our local, state and federal elected representatives and their staff members and encourage our members to do the same. FARMTEAM has been an effective tool in the legislative process – with just a few clicks, your letter is on its way to a decision maker. Add a few thousand friends, and that makes quite an impression!
