Regulatory Issues

Air, water, land, species … these are just a few of the areas where farmers, ranchers and small business owners are regulated by the local, state and federal government.  Whether it is compliance with AB 32, the Clean Air Act (CAA), the Clean Water Act (CWA), the Endangered Species Act (ESA) or the Irrigated Lands Regulatory Program (ILRP) – be assured that you have been represented at the table by Farm Bureau.  The Stanislaus County Farm Bureau also administers the ILRP on behalf of the East San Joaquin Water Quality Coalition in Madera, Merced and Stanislaus counties.

Agencies such as the California Air Resources Board, California Department of Fish & Game, California Department of Pesticide Regulation, Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board, US Environmental Protection Agency, US Fish & Wildlife Service and many others carry out laws and regulations created by the various legislative bodies.  It was once said that the only way to change the rules that the agencies enforce is to change the legislators that create the laws in the first place.

If you know of a regulatory issue, please feel free to contact us.
