THE PROGRAMS
Stanislaus County Farm Bureau offers a number of programs to members and to the entire community to help promote and protect agriculture.
Building a Brighter Tomorrow Fall Benefit
The Stanislaus County Farm Bureau is committed to the education of its members and community where agriculture is concerned. The Stanislaus County Farm Bureau Building a Brighter Tomorrow Fall Benefit was created to enhance our ability to spread agricultures message. This event will allow for the generation of funds to be utilized to further educate the citizens, young and old, of Stanislaus County about the tremendous impact agriculture has to our economy and way of life. Agriculture education includes but is not limited to ag days, Farm Safety 4 Just Kids, scholarships and Ag in the Classroom visits.
Farm News, the voice of Stanislaus County agriculture
The Stanislaus Farm News is published weekly and sent to all of our members. It provides readers with information and discussion on what affects the industry they deal with in their daily lives. Highlights of local events, coverage of major issues in agriculture and glimpses into the lives of valley farmers are all in the pages of this newspaper.
Star Reporter
The annual Star Reporter Contest is the opportunity for local 4-H and FFA members to submit stories and pictures on their activities to be published in the Farm News. Besides giving them the exposure they deserve, at the end of the school year they are recognized with awards for their participation at our Annual Meeting.
Farm Safety 4 Just Kids
Stanislaus County has the only Farm Safety 4 Just Kids Chapter in the state and the winningest program in the country. Activities include a Farm Safety section in the Farm News once a month, visits to schools on Ag days and the County fair to teach kids about farm safety. FS4JK presentations reach over 209,000 children, parents, teachers and others not including the almost 4,000 reached monthly in the Farm News. Ag in the Classroom
Reaching out to children during school tours and going out to schools, Stanislaus County Farm Bureau's Ag in the Classroom teaches children where their food and fiber comes from and the importance of agriculture in their lives.
Stanislaus County Fair
10 days of Ag fun
The Stanislaus County Farm Bureau has a long history of active participation at the Stanislaus County Fair. Through our involvement in the school tours during closed hours, purchasing animals at the livestock auction and delivering the farm safety message to children, Stanislaus County Farm Bureau reaches out to thousands of children, young adults and adults.
Harvest Trails: a tasty tour of the county
Each year Stanislaus County Farm Bureau prints a guide to many fruit and vegetable stands in Stanislaus County. Complete with maps and descriptions of the featured establishments, this guide is an indispensable tool for finding the best local produce.
The Rural Crimes Task Force works to ensure the home is a safe place for equipment, animals and people. Through workshops, presentations and articles for the Stanislaus Farm News, the Task Force, made up of detectives from the Stanislaus County Sheriffs Department, sends the message that prevention is the key to fighting rural crime.
